A netball dress, can bring with it a mix of emotions. Excitement, joy but also for many, anxiety. Everyone has a different body. They all feel, respond and move differently. We must celebrate this. Celebrate the joy that netball and movement brings, that your body takes part in, having fun, playing with friends. Recognising our language and our conversations surrounding our own bodies, exercise and food is crucial for a body positive club culture. Within netball there are a variety of rules that police our bodies, nails, jewellery, kit. All to make us a more uniform team and ensure safety. But a team is only good when made up of individuals that are all built for different roles. The bodies that play netball, predominately women’s bodies change so much through puberty, menstrual cycles pregnancy and menopause.
