High impact sports, such as netball, can take their toll on your pelvic floor (a hammock of muscle and ligaments supporting pelvic organs). So much so that it’s thought around 50% of netballers have pelvic floor issues. This may involve leaking urine when you play, or pelvic pain. Age, hormones and pregnancy can also affect our pelvic floors as well as diet, posture and weight.
